Words of Wisdom No. 7: Stay Fresh

The main aim of brushing is to stay fresh and healthy. Staying fresh also eliminates the build up of food particles that give room for the accumulation of bacteria.

Advantages of staying fresh

Some advantages of staying fresh include: one is saved from various infections, these infections range from tooth decay and dental caries. In extreme cases these teeth disorders may prove it necessary to have the teeth removed. Maintaining our teeth and keeping them fresh and clean can prevent this hassle.

Lack of proper cleaning also gives a room for reinfection in case one had contacted a disease before. Some of the diseases that are likely to be contacted due to brushing with an infected brush includes a cold and hepatitis. Some of the effects that may arise as a result of insufficient brushing or failing to brush include, the buildup of bacteria, which is likely to trigger off teeth infections such as dental caries and tooth decay.

In addition to that, lack of proper brushing creates a foul smell.  After taking any meal, a layer of food particles accumulates on the tongue, the moist condition of the tongue offers a conducive atmosphere for breeding of more germs. Staying fresh can be achieved through brushing after every meal. However in a case where one is not able to brush after every meal, then the flossing method or a mouthwash can also be used to maintain a fresh breath

Cleaning the teeth also ensures that the teeth remain healthy and strong. Toothpastes contain some amount of calcium that helps to make the teeth stronger. In addition to that, in a case where one is interacting with a lot of people, it is embarrassing to produce a bad smell. Proper brushing thus saves one from all this shame and social discomfort.
